What it does

Wyndham Lewis and the two issues of BLAST in 1914 and 1915 produced a British answer to Futurism that rejected its worship of speed in favour of a still point: the vortex. Forms are hard-edged mechanical shards radiating from an off-centre focus. BLAST's covers used enormous woodletter set diagonally across bright pink stock, and its manifesto pages used typographic violence as argument.
