Flat silkscreen symbolism folded into a magazine and mailed worldwide.

What it does

From 1966 the Havana organisation OSPAAAL printed solidarity posters designed to be folded into Tricontinental magazine and posted, so they had to survive four folds and read at a distance. Alfredo Rostgaard and Olivio Martinez worked in flat silkscreen colour with strong symbolic devices, a rifle, a dove, a map, and minimal text in several languages. The economy is structural: few colours, no halftone, no photographic detail.

The prompt

An OSPAAAL solidarity poster for [Subject]. Three or four flat silkscreened colours, no halftone and no photographic tone, built around one strong symbolic device rendered as a bold silhouette. Short text in two languages set in a heavy grotesque along one edge. Visible fold creases quartering the sheet from being mailed. Slightly coarse absorbent paper.

Replace [Subject] with what you are shooting. Everything else is deliberate: the gear, stock and lighting are what push a generator towards this look.
